My adventures

Hello

it would appear that the first entry didn't work -stupid blog!

i am now in Durban - now i have a room and a card to get access my residence and uni (which is nice) and i have my classes. I had my first one today - i get to go and evaluate an actual NGO! its very exciting!

the people here are awesome - i met a guy in the pub last night who was from Zimbabwe. He was at uni there and went to an anti-govt protest. He was expelled from uni coz he had a sign that said "Mugabee out of office" - can you believe that! He went to the supreme court to have the decision overruled, and it was, but the uni wouldn't let him back. After that he was homeless and disilussioned for like 2 years, then found an NGO and worked with them for a bit. They encouraged him to come to SA to finish his education. Now he's on the SRC and organising a bbq with the procedes going to a local orphanage - how cool is that! Quite a story, i was impressed! He was an awesome dude - Tembuka I think his name was.

Will take a photo of my room and upload it one of these days, i warn you now its not much but i feel comfortable in it i've got my photos and stuff up and my teddy - what more do you need?
